Last weekend we had a pre-Christmas celebration in the wine room at Press Restaurant. Such an amazing space! You are surrounded by the best wines from California and the food of course is fantastic. Somehow we forgot to take pictures of ourselves but oh well the room gave us enough to photograph. We added the silver balloons to get the New Years spirit started! This past weekend some friends and I threw a little dinner party to celebrate fall…aka the best season. Looking through my camera the morning after I realized I really didn’t take very many pictures! I was too busy cooking! Here are a few to set the scene…

On the Menu:

Bacon Deviled Eggs

Flatbread with bacon, red onion, apple, and gruyere

Red Kuri Squash Soup

Red Wine Braised Short Ribs

Celery Root with Melted Onions & Leeks

Brussel Sprouts with Maple Syrup

Rainbow Chard with golden raisins and pine nuts

Apple spice cupcakes with cinnamon frosting

Pumpkin Bread (to take home for breakfast)

and lots of wine of course!

I’m planning a dinner party which happens to be one of my favorite things. I spend hours going through Bon Appetit magazines and cookbooks and food blogs searching for the perfect recipes and table decor…and I always love it. All of the images are so inspiring I often get lost in them, and perhaps a little sidetracked. So this is the result of party planning procrastination. What inspires you?
