Last weekend I stopped into The Thomas and Fagiani’s Bar, recently opened on Main St. in Napa, for a late dinner. This building has quite the history. The Thomas restaurant dates back to 1910 and Fagiani’s Bar & Liquor store opened in 1945. Fagiani’s operated as a bar until 1974 when Muriel Fagiani, the owner’s sister, was murdered there. The crime was only solved last September.
The three level restaurant and bar reopened a couple of weeks ago. It has a fun atmosphere and delicious cocktails. We ordered the halibut which was a bit overcooked but the burger with bacon jam was amazing. I think the fries stole the show. If you’re looking for a nice quiet evening out I would avoid the roof deck after 10PM, things start to get a little crazy.
